What is Math Anxiety?

Here are some questions to ask to see if you or your child has Math Anxiety:

  • I get nervous when I have to answer math questions in class.
  • My mind sometimes goes blank when I am doing math problems.
  • I get tense and sweaty during a math test.
  • I am uneasy about having to go up to the board in math class.
  • I sometimes zone out during math class.
  • When I know I have to do math problems or a test, fear comes up.
  • I get fidgety in math class.
  • I am afraid I will not be able to keep up with the rest of the class in math.
  • I can follow the math problems in class but then when I go home to do the homework, my mind goes blank.
